Parent Meeting

Last evening, parents were given a sneak preview into munchkinland and it was impressive to say the least. (Forgive the shaky cell-phone photo.) After getting to watch some rehearsal, the parents were updated on the schedule and other important notes, such as:

  • Sponsorships. YTHC receives some proceeds through ticket sales but we strive to keep ticket prices low and seek community sponsorships to help pay for our show. First Federal has been very generous to us this year but it doesn't come close to paying for everything. We need each and every cast member to bring in sponsorships! Each cast member who brings in 200.00 in sponsorships gets their show t-shirt free. Anyone who brings in 500.00 or more in sponsorships will get to keep 10% of what they bring in.
  • There will be a lasagna party on opening night, Friday, July 10. This is provided by YTHC and cast members will be eating and socializing until midnight. There will also be a pool party after the Sunday July 12 matinee at E-town Country Club. These are the only two chaperoned after-show events. Generally the cast likes to go to a local restaurant after each show but YTHC will not be chaperoning.
  • We need parent volunteers to sign up for things like: working concessions at intermission, ushers, ticket sales, make cookies (to be sold at intermission--must be in ziplock baggies 2 per bag), set up for the dinner show, drivers for the cast when we go from the PAC to the mall for the mall promo., etc. If you were unable to sign up last night, please stop in to the YTHC office during rehearsal sometime and sign up. We need help!
  • All cast members who are flying must have their parent/guardian sign a release in order to do so.
  • Tickets can be purchased from the YTHC office during rehearsal times or order forms can be printed from the website and mailed in. Tickets are also sold at the door each show night. Dinner theatre tickets must be purchased in advance.
  • Bio sheets for the cast must be turned in immediately. Head shots (photos that will be in the program) for cast members whose last names begins with A-M will be done on Wednesday during rehearsal. N-Z will be done on Thursday. Plan hair and makeup accordingly.
  • Attendance is required for all cast members from now on. Each cast member will sign in on a sign-in sheet when they arrive at rehearsal.
  • Costume parade (Friday, July 3) will be a very long day for the cast. YTHC will feed the cast after the costume parade and before we head over to the mall for the Mall Promo. After the mall promo we will not be returning to the PAC.
  • We have a strict policy regarding the care of costumes. A paper regarding this matter will be coming home for all parents to read and sign. Please discuss the rules with your child.
  • We need male volunteer(s) to supervise the boy's dressing room during shows. Please see Mrs. Marsee about this.
  • Mrs. Maffet is collecting items for a raffle that will be held on the last show date. She is seeking donations.
